In Three Hundred and Sixty Five Days, I'll be a legal adult

Well, my loves, I turned seventeen today. For the first time, I woke up on my birthday feeling older. I feel that seventeen is the beginning of the end of childhood and adolescence - and also the beginning of the start of adulthood. Indeed, how lovely it is to be as old as seventeen, yet also as young as seventeen. I'm hoping this year will bring new growth - spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. I pray I can concentrate on becoming the woman God means me to be, being wise and careful in all that I say and do.

Eternity

My dreams desire moments of brilliant color,
When my Angels of Music
Sing and whisper sweetly
Of the timelessness of Eternity
Of the times that shall come to me.

When Spring and Winter will be one,
Beneath the light of the golden sun.
And the flowers live by cool streams
That run down to the bright blue ocean
Where every blade of the green grass
Looks up lovingly at the clouds
From which cooling rain as diamonds fall
Making a symphony of sounds.

Stars will shine brighter in a sky
That is not so dark as before
With the moon's great silver orb,
The symbol of love, shining down.

Morning will dawn in purple and red,
The soft breeze will force
The wild mist surrounding everything
To flee by a well known course
And bring life to summer trees.

Visions of smiles being passed
From man to woman, Brother to sister,
In the garden where Death and all demons,
Pain and tears have no power over us.
Where we are all children, with no cares
No sorrow, only joy and peace.
Where together we will sing, there
In the perfect beauty of love,
Perfectly blending in pure harmony
And storms will come no more.

House of Mirrors

You can’t seem to see past your own reflection
Caught up in the halls of your introspection
And you’re staring at your mirror on the wall
Asking “who is the fairest of them all?”
‘Cause Lord I know, it’s not me
If only you could see
That you’ve already been set free

Well come on, come on
Let’s throw our mirrors down
Yeah come on, come on
Let’s shatter the glass on the ground

Well you say “hold on, if I could just try this one thing.
Well I know I can change and that would change everything”
But a house made of mirrors never helped you see any clearer
It’s yourself you can’t see past
And Lord, isn’t that just like me?
If only we could see, that He’s already set us free

Well come on, come on
Let’s throw our mirrors down
Yeah come on, come on
Let’s shatter the glass on the ground

Oh, oh
Freedom’s waiting for you now
So come on, come on
And throw your mirrors down

Come on, if you’re tired take a step outside
You might find that you can forget about yourself tonight
Oh, come on if you’re tired of failed attempts to try
Freedom’s waiting when you look outside
Come on, if you’re tired take a step outside
You might find you can forget about yourself tonight
Yeah, come if you’re tired of your failed attempts to try
Freedom is waiting when you look outside

Well come on, come on
Let’s throw our mirrors down
Yeah come on, come on
Let’s shatter the glass on the ground
Freedom’s waiting for you now
So come on, come on and throw your mirrors down
